As a family-run IT system vendor, we have now been successful on the market for 30 years. Our head office is located in Langen, Hesse, in the immediate vicinity of Frankfurt and Darmstadt. We currently support around 400 customers, 3,000 servers and 17,000 workstations. Our goal is for every customer to receive the perfectly tailored, open-system IT solution – without being bound by a maintenance contract. As our guiding principle is: “IT should function smoothly.”

When we work with a new customer, we always start with a detailed system analysis. This enables us to identify any challenges in our customers’ IT infrastructure within the shortest possible time. On this basis, we make concrete recommendations for further cooperation. In addition to detailed consulting, our range of services also includes the implementation of hardware and software as well as expert support for our customers up to the successful operating phase.

Our employees attain a particularly high position with us. It is very important to us to offer employees secure jobs and a great working atmosphere. This can only succeed if we align our actions with the wishes and needs of our customers. In order to be able to respond to customers in a situation-specific, fast and flexible manner, we need employees with a high level of motivation and commitment. At the same time, we would like to enable new colleagues to take on [their own] responsibility in their work very quickly through an intensive induction phase. That is why we regularly support our colleagues through further training and coaching. In our collaboration we place emphasis on working together rather than competing with each other. As for us, no matter your age, family background, religion, disability, skin colour, sexuality or gender, it is the human being that counts. Only as a team can we guarantee our customers smooth operation of their IT infrastructure.

The milestones in abass' 30-year company history

    2024 - 2024

    We are celebrating our 30th anniversary. Our management team has expanded to include two new members, Marc Peter and Annika Peter. With this addition and our 45 employees, we are positioning ourselves for the future. We train our future specialists with our four-person training team and 11 trainees, as well as students, at our new abass Academy, with a focus on specific skills and great enthusiasm. For the past few years, we have also been working with an expanded portfolio, including automated services through our control center, digitalization projects, and IT security measures.

    Our move has now been successfully completed and with the grand opening ceremony of our new offices we also celebrated our company anniversary afterwards. Another reason for celebration is our major website relaunch: new content, new design and, above all, bundled expertise in our three newly defined corporate divisions with the aim of keeping our customers up to date at all times.

    abass-story-25yearsThere was again a reason for celebration – namely our 25th anniversary! Over the previous five years we had continued to grow and currently had 45 employees. We also completed our first major international project during this year. Last but not least, we expanded spatially and moved to a much larger area of 1,200 square metres.

    With the five business segments “service on demand”, “solution”, “projects”, “data centre” and “helpdesk” and a total of 25 employees, we were well positioned and had firmly established ourselves as an IT system vendor.

    abass turned 20 years old! On 12 September 2014 we celebrated our 20th anniversary with colleagues, business partners, the mayor and numerous other guests.

    We got a new corporate design at the end of 2012. We also introduced a fifth business segment, “solution”, in which we bundle our software and hardware competencies.

    In order to be able to respond even more quickly to customer inquiries, in 2009 we decided to install an internal helpdesk. This not only guarantees faster processing of customer inquiries, but also helps us provide better service.

    In order to meet customer requirements, we initially outsourced our own IT infrastructure to a data centre in Frankfurt in 2008. As early as 1 June 2008, we also used the data centre for our customers’ systems.

    In the summer of this year, we took on our first trainee as a permanent employee after he passed his final examination. With our trainees, we generally pursue the goal of offering them a permanent employment relationship after their training.

    As we were able to further expand our “service on demand” and “projects” business segments in 2003 and look back on excellent sales developments, we moved to new office premises in the building of the Langen municipal utility.

    This year the time had finally come: for the first time we started to train an IT specialist with a focus on system integration! Since then, we have made it our business to continuously train young people.

    Bärbel Thomin-Schäfer has also been part of the management team since 2000. Her expertise and commitment have made a significant contribution to the development of our company into a flourishing IT system vendor.

    1997 - 1997

    In 1997 we were finally able to make our first permanent appointment: Our accountant, Ruth Bender, remains loyal to us to this day and actively supports us. In addition, this year we established and expanded our “service on demand” business segment. To this day, our customers still appreciate the fact that they can work with us without a maintenance contract. We have been offering fast and reliable help with IT problems for 30 years.
